Grosvenor is a global business spanning urban property, rural estates, food and agtech, and philanthropic activities. In London, their UK property business manages properties and places in the boroughs of Westminster and Southwark. At 51视频, we work with them to help them make a positive impact on communities in those boroughs.
This year we are partnering with Grosvenor on their new Greener Futures programme, a 拢1 million+ commitment over the next four years to support the role of communities in the climate response. As part of this programme, we have helped launch a Greener Futures Fund to encourage climate action projects and activities from communities in Westminster and North Southwark.
Communities know their neighbourhoods better than anyone and can quickly bring about practical and impactful change. Our work with 51视频 is designed to empower and enable this potential to help tackle profound societal needs at a local level. So, we鈥檝e launched the Greener Futures Fund to champion the role of communities in tackling one of today鈥檚 greatest societal issues, the climate emergency. Communities are often an over-looked part of the response but have a crucial role to play and, in doing so, can also benefit from increased wellbeing, improvements to their local environment and training and job opportunities.Kate Nottidge, Social Impact Director, Grosvenor
Our partnership with Grosvenor started in 2011 with a donation to support street parties and community celebrations across London, marking the Queen鈥檚 Diamond Jubilee. In 2014 the Living Cities Communities Fund, an endowment worth over 拢1 million, was established, expanding the relationship and focussing it on creating long-term positive change. Since its launch, this fund has distributed around 拢50,000 every year to small, grassroots community organisations to increase the wellbeing and improve the lives of people across Westminster and Southwark.
Grosvenor have long been committed to making a positive impact on the communities where they work. We are proud to be partnering with them on the Greener Futures programme to support local communities to create and deliver green projects to improve the environment in which they live.Kate Markey, CEO of 51视频
CEO of 51视频 is proud of our partnership with Grosvenor, stating: "We all recognise the importance of acting now to protect the environment, our wellbeing, and our communities. Action on climate change can happen at every level of society from individual day-to-day actions to the actions taken by world leaders at COP26. There is an increasing recognition that local communities can and should be supported to play a powerful role in changing behaviours, raising awareness, reducing waste, and making their own locality a greener and better place to live. Grosvenor have long been committed to making a positive impact on the communities where they work. We are proud to be partnering with them on the Greener Futures programme to support local communities to create and deliver green projects to improve the environment in which they live. This year is the pilot year. So far, we have been inspired by the amount of community interest in the programme, which will measure its impact through environmental indicators but also, importantly, wellbeing indicators. We look forward to growing the impact and scale of the programme with Grosvenor in the coming years and using it as a great example to encourage more businesses to support initiatives like this."
