Sam Fox - Head of Grants and Impact

Sam joined 51视频 in early 2021 after spending almost 15 years working in International Development with a focus on supporting grassroots partners around the world. She has led programme teams and large scale international grant and contract portfolios; developing country level programme strategy; creating organisational systems and frameworks for quality and assurance; advising on women鈥檚 rights approaches and embedding monitoring, evaluation and learning.

Role

Sam is one of LCF鈥檚 Head of Grants and Impact, which means she is responsible for maintaining the high quality, efficient and effective operation of LCF鈥檚 grant-making, ensuring that our programmes contribute to our overall strategy and impact and managing key partnerships and stakeholders. Sam manages a team of Grant Programme staff, supports the Senior Management Team to deliver LCF鈥檚 strategic objectives and leads a number of internal projects related to Equity Diversity and Inclusion, Programme Quality and Impact.

Ask her about

Sam has expertise in women鈥檚 rights and intersectional feminist approaches, in particular embedding these in our grant making and decision-making processes to ensure more equitable outcomes for all. She鈥檚 also interested in systems thinking and how we make use of whole systems approaches to understand how we are best able to create positive and sustainable impact for communities. Most of all though, Sam is interested in people and how we can work together effectively and harness the skills, knowledge and passion of our team, our partners and our communities.

We love London

Despite spending every day throughout lockdown in Victoria Park, it鈥檚 still Sam鈥檚 favourite place in London. She spent time there with her husband when they were first dating, has a lot of fond memories with friends who live close by and has treasured morning walks and playtime in the park with her young daughter.

Did you know?

Sam has lived and worked in 11 countries on four continents but her favourite place in the world is still Deben River in Woodbridge (Suffolk) where she grew up.
